Contemporary Learning Spaces

Designed by award winning architect and Bethlehem ex-student, Rachel Neeson from Neeson Murcutt Architects, the project integrates innovative learning spaces with the historical and heritage listed heart of the school.

Technology and Innovation

Our new multipurpose built STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math’s) room featuring 3D printers, tripods, lighting, green screens, coding equipment, robotics, drones and other tools and equipment for individual and team based projects places St Vincent’s College Ashfield at the forefront of this exciting key learning area. Students are able to fully immerse themselves in STEM studies and develop skills that will give them the foundations to succeed at school and beyond.

Centre for Learning and Innovation

The Centre for Learning and Innovation – the heart of the college – is a light, air-conditioned, well appointed learning environment where students can research and study in an environment conducive to education. The collection of books and materials are being constantly updated. College staff are always available to assist students in acquiring the research skills necessary to successfully complete their assignments.

Modern Classrooms

Our classrooms are modern, newly painted and carpeted and all feature air conditioning. Additionally, state of the art science labs, soundproof music rooms, construction rooms and a newly built learning space for our MacqLit program ensures all of our students have the tools to succeed.

Creative and Performing Arts Areas

These areas provide an innovative and inspirational learning environment where our students are encouraged to engage and inquire.

Commercial Kitchens

In addition to our Food Technology room, we have a fully equipped and recently refurbished commercial kitchen featuring a Barista coffee machine. These spaces allow our students to undertake their hospitality studies in a professional environment.

Open Spaces

Expansive playing outdoor basketball, indoor soccer and cricket courts and grassed area allow for effective collaboration and active sporting activities. Shaded areas within the college yard are available for students to recharge and relax during break times. The college is ideally situated within walking distance of five local sporting fields and the newly redeveloped Ashfield Aquatic Centre.

Gymnasium

The college has a fully equipped onsite gymnasium including treadmills, weight training equipment, spin bikes and rowing machines. Students are able to make use of the Lasallian Gym at selected times under teacher supervision. This facility not only allows students to build their physical strength capacity, but also to build relationships and confidence.

We focus on improving student comfort and engagement for learning. Each space caters for collaborative and individual learning enhanced by digital technology.

Outside the classroom

Outside the classroom we have spaces for sport, play, prayer, quiet time and collaborative play as well as a brand new adventure playground.
